In late April, our first year of the Marianist Specialist-in-Training program came to a close, as Bro. Charles Kimeu, SM, from the Region of Eastern Africa, returned to Nairobi. The Marianist Specialist-in-Training program calls upon Marianist religious from around the world to engage in research focused on Marianist history, spirituality, and mission with the support of NACMS staff, local Marianists, and the University of Dayton faculty. |

On July 6, 1993, Pope John Paul II declared Marianists Carlos Eraña, Fidel Fuidio, and Jesús Hita “venerable”; the pope beatified these same brothers on October 1, 1995. All three of these holy men were martyred in 1936 during the Spanish Civil War and are known as the “Marianist Martyrs of Ciudad Real.” |
