In November 2024, Bro. Andrew Kosmowski, SM, presented about cataloging as a viable option for students pursuing a Master of Science in Library and Information Science (MSLIS). The panel was sponsored by The Catholic University of America’s Department of Library and Information Sciences Alumni Board.
Bro. Andrew spoke about how he was introduced to cataloging, the importance of cataloging and the discoverability of resources with good metadata, different workflows within cataloging settings, and how to catalog in other languages or scripts. NACMS was the smallest library represented on the panel, demonstrating how specialized religious collections collaborate with larger institutions in worldwide conversations around librarianship.
