Since he started as NACMS’ Media Administrator, Mike Bennett has upgraded the studio’s equipment and invited individuals to record their experiences of the Marianist Family and Charism. Notable upgrades, including a new table, microphone, media interface, and microphone stands, have enhanced audio quality and eased the editing process. What lies deeper under the surface is the space the Cada Recording Studio provides for the lived experiences of the Marianist Charism to be expressed and heard. This atmosphere invites and empowers the Marianist Family to explore the “what” and the “why” behind the Founders’ vision and the Charism’s movement in our world today.
The Cada Recording Studio and the prior work of Gabby Bibeau and Patti Gehred have empowered NACMS to build a substantial media library of audio and video recordings. Mike has facilitated 20 recording sessions with 33 individuals over the past four months to continue building this media library for future audiovisual productions. If you would like to share your story or talk about a specific topic relevant to Marianist history and spirituality, we’d love to have you visit our studio. If you cannot make it to Dayton, recordings can also be conducted virtually. Reach out to Mike at mbennett3@udayton.edu to schedule a time.
