Letter to the pastors of Bordeaux defending the Sodality, its means and ends

On February 2, 1801, Father Chaminade gave birth to the Sodality: his vision for the spiritual regeneration of France in the wake of the French Revolution. On this day the first lay Marianists committed to incarnating Father Chaminade’s vision. The Sodality would be the seedbed for the Society of Mary and the Daughters of Mary. This was the genesis point of the entire Marianist Family. In 1824, Chaminade wrote a letter to the pastors of Bordeaux defending the Sodality, its means and ends
